Should I Try Red Light Therapy?

Light therapy has been used to treat a number of health problems since ancient times when the sun was worshiped for it’s healing properties. Red light therapy, however, is now a mainstream natural remedy for a number of ailments.

It has gone so mainstream that many traditional tanning salons now offer this service using a tanning bed equipped with red lighting. Not only can you go to a salon to receive this treatment, you can even purchase your own red light devices to use at home. So you may be wondering, why try red light therapy?

The treatment can just feel good. Often you lay in a bed very similar to a traditional tanning bed and receive a 10-20 minute treatment. During this time you can listen to music and just relax. Enjoying some you time.

Scientific studies have shown that red light therapy can help to decrease the appearance of wrinkles, treat acne and other inflammatory diseases, and may provide a number of other health benefits. However, this does not happen over night. Much of the time numerous sessions are needed before visible results can be seen.

It’s Natural and Safe, so Why Not?

Red light therapy is generally a very safe treatment, as there are very few potential side effects from it. However, you should be cautious if you are taking any medication that may cause light sensitivity or if you have any current skin or eye conditions that may cause you to be light sensitive.
