Muscle soreness is something we all have experienced…the thought of sitting down on a toilet after leg day is enough to make anyone cringe or looking up a flight of stairs after doing countless squats the day before, yikes!
Here are some tips and tricks for treating and preventing muscles soreness:
Stretch it out
After that tough leg day remember to stretch! If you are going to attempt to stretch muscles that are already sore, remember to always warm up your muscles before stretching.
This will seem like the very last thing on your mind when you are feeling super sore, but getting those muscles moving can actually help to decreases soreness. Try something like going for a light jog or taking a walk.
Epsom Salt Baths
Whether it is the next day or immediately after a tough workout, Epsom baths can be a lifesaver in helping treat and prevent soreness. This is also a good time to relax and reward yourself for completing that tough workout. Another tip, try dropping in a couple drops of lavender essential oil for a truly relaxing experience. Plus, lavender may actually help with the treatment and prevention of muscle soreness as well.
