Sauna Therapy, That’s a Real Thing?

The sauna, we have all heard of it and have probably experienced at some point it in our life time. However, sauna therapy has become a hot new trend in the world of wellness. Before we dive into sauna therapy and what it’s all about, let’s become a little more familiar with the different types of saunas.

Wet Sauna

This is the type of sauna you can sprinkle water on and create a steamy experience. This will create a humid environment.

Dry Sauna

A dry sauna lacks any humidity, it is a dry heat.

Smoke Sauna

The sauna is heated by a wood fire without a chimney. After the wood is almost completely burned and almost all the smoke has dissipated users can experience a soft heat with a smokey aroma.

Infrared Sauna

Infrared light is used to produce heat. This type of sauna is unique, as it heats the body without heating up the air around you.

Sauna Therapy, yep That’s a Thing

Infrared saunas, in particular, are becoming a popular new trend in wellness world. Many claim that this type of sauna therapy can be used to; relieve stress and anxiety, treat chronic health conditions like high blood pressure and congestive heart failure, detoxify the body, and can even alleviate pain. However, there is no definitive proof that the infrared sauna can lead to these health benefits. More rigorous research is still needed. That being said, on the other hand, no adverse side effects have been reported from the use of an infrared sauna.

Sauna therapy may be a good option if you are simply looking for a way to relax and enjoy a little me time.
